Switzerland changes the rules of quarantine and PCR tests for its citizens and incoming tourists. Now it is necessary to submit a negative COVID test result to travel to the Swiss Confederation,
As noted in the statement, starting on January 28, all tourists from regions posing an epidemiological danger must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be done no later than 72 hours before the trip. At the same time, upon arrival in Switzerland, travelers will have to go through a ten-day self-isolation, as before. They can escape the self-isolation on the seventh day if they provide another negative PCR test or an antibody test.
The new measures will apply to everyone who arrives in the Confederation from highly infected regions. Exceptions will be made only for people who live near the Swiss border and come to the country for work every day.
A negative PCR test for COVID-19 will also be required for other guests who intend to fly to Switzerland by plane from epidemiologically less dangerous areas. These travelers will be checked before boarding the plane, the statement says.
