Koopman: COP29 - recognition of Azerbaijan's work in field of renewables, fight against climate change

COP29 is a recognition of the work Azerbaijan is doing in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency, the fight against climate change, Gert Jan Koopman, Director General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission, said in an exclusive interview with Report.

He noted that during his current visit to Baku, he will offer assistance of the European Commission in hosting COP.

"We think the COP is a major achievement for Azerbaijan, it's a recognition of the work you're doing in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency, the fight against climate change. And we obviously want to support that very strongly," he said.
