Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan have started preparing the feasibility study of the project of integrating energy systems and laying a high-voltage cable under the Caspian Sea to supply ‘green energy’ to the countries of the European Union (EU), Kazakhstan's Energy Minister, Almasadam Satkaliyev, said, Report informs with reference to TASS.

“Initial work has been done with EU countries that have expressed their interest in importing ‘clean electricity’. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan have signed an agreement to lay a high-voltage cable under the Caspian Sea, which will allow us to provide renewable, ‘clean energy’ to selected markets. We are talking about a fairly large amount of investment," the minister stated.

According to him, it is planned to use the wind potential of the Caspian and Aral seas for the export of electricity: "Now we have started preparing the feasibility study of the project, according to which the duration of the construction works will be determined."
