Expert: Armenian diaspora in EU actively spreading disinformation about Azerbaijan

The West, in particular the EU, under the influence of the Armenian diaspora, is seeking to wage a “war of opportunity” in the South Caucasus against Azerbaijan, Pakistani expert, Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan, executive director of the Center for South Asia & International Studies (CSAIS), Islamabad, told Report.

In his opinion, the Armenian diaspora living within the EU is trying to convince the authorities of their countries to support Armenia in its confrontation with Azerbaijan, which creates obstacles to the establishment of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region.

“Critical analysis reveals that Armenians Diasporas living in France, Germany, EU and Canada are trying to convince their states to support Armenia against Azerbaijan. Thus, it has now become a full fledge trans-regional hybrid media war against Azerbaijan. One thing is crystal clear that it has been a deliberate effort to make a virtual reality against Azerbaijan and its peaceful people living in Karabakh for centuries,” he noted.

He added that France has the most anti-Azerbaijani position among EU countries.

“The French president Macron’s anti-Muslim/Islam sentiments vividly reflect his own biased and prejudiced approach which is far away from any rationality and logic. The French Senate resolution to condemn Azerbaijan for its so-called attack on Armenian sovereign territory in September is based on certain diplomatic flaws and legally on faulty lines. It is also against the true spirits and injections of international laws respecting sovereignty of an independent country, Azerbaijan.”
